What does SUP stand for?

Is there an age requirement to participate?

This is an all ages class, but we suggest 13 years or older. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Yogis must know how to swim & feel comfortable in the calm bay waters. This class does not go on the open ocean.

What does the class include?

Yogis will meet at Paddleboard Newport Beach to check in and get fitted for their paddleboard & paddle (board & paddle included with ticket). We'll take a short stroll to the beach (bay side; not ocean side) and provide a quick tutorial on SUP etiquette. Then we'll paddle from the shore and enjoy a 15 minute paddleboard warm up. Our yogi instructor will assist in tying the boards along a safety line in deeper waters and we'll begin our 45 minute Vinyasa Yoga SUP class. 

What if I've never done yoga or stand up paddleboarding?

Totally ok! We've all got to start somewhere right?! We offer various levels in poses for our beginner yogis and for our more advanced yogis to ensure all levels are challenged and have fun! Plus even our most advanced yogis fall into the calm ocean...we encourage it!

Where should I park?

We offer a few complimentary spaces directly behind the Paddleboard Newport Beach store, but recommend parking along the street. Parking is metered and payment is required by each attendee; your ticket price does not include parking.

What should I wear & bring?

Leave your yoga mat at home because all yoga is practiced on our paddleboards. We suggest wearing swimwear or yoga wear (weather dependent). Hats & sunglasses encouraged to protect from harmful UV rays, but know that if you fall in, you may lose them! There are lockers available at Newport Beach Paddleboard for your purse, keys, wallet, phone, shoes, etc, but we do recommend leaving most of your belongings locked in your car as space is limited. If you want to take a dip after class, bring your towel! Photos encouraged and we have phone protectors available for $5 rental fee is desired. I mean, did it even if happen if it's not in insta?!
